This weekend, I can’t help but think of Mary.

The mother who watched her son die
and chose not to look away.

The mother who knew from His conception that her Son
would die and yet she chose to carry Him anyway.

The mother who stayed.
These are the conversations we need to be having.

Sure it’s the parent’s choice. And I love and support many families who choose differently than I do now.

But that doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying to show them this side. That
“But won’t they ask why they look different?”

Yes. And I’ll get the beautiful opportunity to explain why and reframe the way circumcision is viewed in the next generation.

Both of my cut boys have asked and BOTH responded sa
I feel myself pulled into a new phase.
A phase where I don’t let the noise cloud my vision.
Where what’s within arms reach is the greater good.
Where “I don’t know the answer to that” is part of my vocabulary.
